Stand out by not standing out
One of the best ways to get your writing noticed by the right kind of people online is to use a little tip I learned from a man whose book about writing sold more than 1.5 million copies world wide.
I say “the right kind of people” because…
If you’re suddenly going viral, it doesn’t matter if the people who are resonating with it would never buy from you.
Just imagine, building an audience of 100,000 followers then not being able to sell a single copy of a course you’ve poured months into building. This isn’t an exaggeration. I had a guy join my email list a while back who had the exact same problem. He built up a huge audience extremely fast, but when it came to making an offer, no one was buying.
Even still, it’s important to create content with mass appeal in mind.
Why?
Because it makes you hundreds, thousands, or even hundreds of thousands of times more likely to get your message in front of the right person at the right time.
Which is the essence of modern marketing.
But we’ve just seen how mindlessly chasing engagement metrics can screw up your business worse than most people think.
And with the rise of AI writing, its easier and easier to copy viral content.
But it’s harder and harder to build an audience of buyers.
Why? Because everyone’s starting to sound the same.
So it’s more important than ever to make your writing stand out by not making your writing stand out. And what I mean by that is, get to the heart of what makes your writing sound so much like you that if your best friend was reading it and you weren’t in the room they’d still know it was you.
And you can do all that using a little tip I learned from a world famous author and writing educator.
One that makes your writing irresistible to your ideal clients by doing the exact opposite of what most people would normally think they need to do to make their writing stand out.
It’s very counter-intuitive.
Something I never once heard writing at the college level for years.
I can’t believe they don’t teach this in school. And it’s one of the most important lessons I’ve learned that will take your content from being simply “nice to have” to being essential and necessary. That is, when your readers read it, they’ll think, “I’ve got to have it…”
And you can find it inside 15 Legendary Writing Secrets — Lesson 5.
