Sure beats dying from a stomach virus
Nature of Marketing subscriber Abbey Page says:

Last week my win was not dying from a stomach virus immediately getting back from a 12 day trip in Europe. I have had much better wins this week though… yesterday I officially quit my job! Wahoo. Kissing corporate America goodbye is a sweet, sweet feeling. And thanks to Kevin I now have an amazing emailing system that is helping me book more clients.
===
Here’s what happened.
Abbey came back from her trip not realizing that the very first email we sent to her very first 150 email subscribers already had someone reply to book a discovery call.
Which by the way, she gathered those subscribers using what I teach inside Client Affinity Content, and inside what I teach inside Minimum Viable Email List which are both currently available for free inside the membership.
And as soon as she got back, we wrote another email…
That email too, also got a reply for a discovery call… almost immediately.
So let's look at this in context.
Abbey had pretty much no following other than about 800 Instagram followers that floated over when she created her Threads account.
She more than doubled that in a week. She's gotten over 150 email subscribers when she previously never had an email list before. And she’s already gotten one paid client from Threads and two more discovery calls to find out more about working with her.
Which brings me to my point.
One of the things I've noticed is that whenever my clients employ the things that I teach, their Threads accounts, their email list, and their client roster all actually grow faster than mine.
They all get better results than I do using the stuff I teach.
And I’m starting to wonder….
You see all these gurus out there that get 10,000 followers overnight or explode or whatever and then say, hey, just follow what I do.
But when you do, you don't get the same results.
And I think it has to do with something I heard Alex Hormozi say recently, which is…
“Don’t make $10 then teach how to make $10.”
Because even though Abbey’s getting great results…
I want to emphasize the importance of doing the work and developing real skills before trying to teach others. Abbey’s not out there teaching other people how to build a style guide business, she’s just building a style guide business, and helping men improve their lives.
And one of the reasons this is so important is because success is actually a shitty teacher.
You get lucky once, you try to teach it, if it fails for folks… you don’t know why.
But if you try and fail a bunch…
You start actually realize what works and why.
Anyway, all to say, apparently I’m pretty decent at marketing, but I’m not out here teaching people how to build a marketing business, or make their first $100 by doing digital marketing online, because that’s a useless thing to teach.
If nothing else, it’s wasting people’s time.
I recently saw a woman who got fired from her job for posting about building a digital marketing business on Threads to escape toxic work environments. And one quick glance at her profile proved to me she had literally no idea what she was doing.
All to say…
That’s why I prefer to just be an expert at what I do and work with other experts in different fields like you.
That way, I can stay in my zone of genius, you can stay in yours, and together we can synergize.
So if you're an expert in your field and you want to learn how to grow your business the way Abbey did, Client Affinity Content and Minimum Viable Email List are both available for free right now inside the community.
