Here's what I said:

I don't outsource my writing or thinking to somebody else's proprietary black box chatbot.

I store everything I can about my offers, my audience, my writing, my thoughts, my ideas, my beliefs, everything about my business, all inside Notion. Then I point Notion AI at it.

Suddenly it’s not giving generic copy suggestions anymore.

It’s acting more like a writing assistant who’s been inside my business for years. It knows a decent amount about good copy, and takes great direction when it is inevitably wrong.

But the thing is, you still need to know a thing or two about copy and marketing before any of this works.

Blindly accepting the outputs will never do.

AI tools don’t replace skill. They never will. It just removes the bottlenecks between you and getting more of it out, better, faster, and much more pleasurably.

Take for example, the campaign I’m working on with a client.

They’re giving away hundreds of hours of recorded video content to their highest level students in preparation for their upcoming academy enrollment this year, and while I’m huge fan of their content, and am still listening to quite a bit of it on my lunch breaks, if I had to watch all those videos and take notes by hand, I’d be an old man by now.

Instead, I can ask my computer to download and transcribe every single video and just point me to the stuff that matters for the emails I’m writing, and it will do it, effectively, reliably, and put everything in the right place for me to reference it later.

Genius. And that’s just one use case I can think of right now.

Right now, every single business owner that spends any amount of time on the computer performing their work has access to the world’s best, and most diligent, digital assistant known to man, and almost zero of them are actually using it.

And I’m not surprised. That’s how innovation works (see chart below):

There will always be risks, and therefore, potential rewards for anyone who becomes an early adopter of the right technologies, in the right way.

And while most people are trying to get AI to think for them.

I'm trying to get AI to think like me. To automate the boring stuff that gets in the way of me writing, creating, serving my customers and clients, etc…

Without diluting a single one of my opinions along the way.

And that's the actual system I have running underneath everything I ship. The daily emails, the Threads posts, the community content, all of it. My ideas. My writing. My process. Just amplified, synthesized, and sped up.

Which frees me up for the stuff AI can't do for me anyway.

Higher leverage thinking, philosophy, strategy, and more…
