Don't let SEO mummies curse your brand!

Now that traditional SEO is dead, buried, and mummified thousands of feet below the surface of the earth…

There’s been something on my mind lately.

And that is… how to structure your content and your website so that our future AI powered underlings will recommend you to all your ideal clients instead.

Especially since some of those old “SEO hacks” that people used to recommend can actually curse your brand and prevent you from showing up in AI-driven search results altogether.

Now, I probably don’t have to tell you that word-of-mouth-marketing from actual humans will always be in first place.

But if you can get “the internet” to recommend you, in my opinion that comes in a close second. And in lieu of the first, the second will do. Plus, it will make your life infinitely easier as you climb through the ranks of industry leadership. At which point, if both other experts in your industry AND our future robot underlings are recommending you to your ideal clients, then in my humble opinion, you will have a significant advantage over anyone ignoring the future of AI-searchability.

Now I can’t guarantee that getting recommended by AI will work for you 100% of the time…

In fact, I’ve had AI recommend “experts” that, after sizing them up, were ultimately disappointing. Turns out, they were only recommended because of their long standing and well structured web presence, but unfortunately their work and ultimately their positioning were clearly outdated.

But I will say, I was immediately impressed by the recommendation and gave them a shot anyway.

Furthermore, had I looked them up and been like, wow, this is awesome, can’t believe I’ve never heard of this person before… then my pre-formulated opinion of them and their ability to help me solve my problems would have been much different. I’d have been like, “Wow, not only is this person awesome, but according to a summary of the entire internet, we’d be a good fit… ain’t that something?”

Anyway, the reason I tell you all this is because I just had conversation about this with a new friend of mine, Michele Kasl, who’s been running a web design agency for the past 20 years.

We recently had a conversation about positioning yourself online, and during that conversation we got to talking a little bit about how to structure your content online so that AI actually recommends you, over other folks online, to your ideal clients when they’re searching for solutions to their life’s most pressing problems.

Plus, we recorded it…
