How to get clients without sounding like a desperate guru

Everyone loves to buy.

But nobody likes to be sold.

So what’s the best, feel-good way to get people to say yes to what you’re building… using nothing but simple words in an email?

Easy…

You make believe.

Of course, you already believe in what you’re selling. You believe in the value you give. You believe in the transformation you deliver. But now you have to make them believe. Because if they already believed… you probably wouldn’t be reading this.

You’d be sold out instead.

So here’s what I want you to remember.

There’s a tool you’ve been using since you were five years old, and maybe even before that. Something so old it’s practically woven into your DNA. Something that will make people remember you and what you said.

And if it’s a good fit…

It’ll help them remember why they want what you have without you ever having to push, beg, prod, or ramble on like a half-baked guru repeating the same desperate pitch that makes you cringe as you hit send.

So here’s the thing.

This is going to sound insultingly simple. Obvious, even. But I promise, it works for a reason, and it’s worth hearing again.

Are you ready?

Here it is…

It’s storytelling.

And here’s why that’s more important than ever right now.

You see, it all boils down to simple biology.

You live in a world your brain wasn’t built for. Too much noise, too many facts, too many random details flying at you 24/7. And with the power AI, this problem has amplified 100-fold. So your nervous system has no choice but to filter it all down to the few bits that actually matter.

And what matters?

The things that help you get what you want.

The things that help you achieve your dreams, your goals, and your desires.

So here’s how it works:

When you dump information on someone, they’ll remember a tiny fraction of it (if they remember any at all).

But when you wrap that same information inside a story, a true story, or a true-feeling parable, it changes their brain. You’re not just lighting up their language center. You’re lighting up whole darn thing and their emotions, memory, and empathy all begin to flicker to life.

Their brain stops “sitting in the audience” and starts living the experience.

And with that…

You invite your readers on a journey where they’re free to take the lessons embedded within as their own… OR NOT.

Which is important. They’re free to decide. That’s what makes storytelling so powerful. When you respect your readers autonomy and they make the decision for themselves, you no longer have to sell.

You just tell the truth.

And belief will do the rest.

Anyway, hope this helps.
