Neanderthals boiled bones in “fat factories”

Turns out…

Your ancestors can teach you everything you need to know about building a lean, freedom-focused business model.

One that’s sure to make onlookers jealous of your free time.

Reading Nature News this morning and apparently archaeologists found large piles of mysteriously cracked bones at an ancient site dating back around 125,000 years (which heavily links them to Neanderthal activity).

What were they doing with them?

Rendering fat most likely.

They hauled in bones from hunted animals, boke them with tools and boiled them. And when the water cooled, they harvested the marrow and stored it in containers made from tree bark and animal hide.

At least that’s the assumption anyway.

And there’s a timely business lesson in there.

Why?

Because for many, content creation has become the new 9-5.

But your ancestors?

They wasted no time or energy and used everything they had to it’s fullest extent.

And as a result — in some cases — they only “worked” about 4 hours a day to get their basic needs met. The rest of their time could often be dedicated to their interests, leisure, spiritual endeavors and future advancements.

Here’s what that means for you…

If you don’t create in a lean, freedom-focused way, you can easily get buried in the day-to-day of “keeping up”. Which is why I like to model my lifestyle and my business after the most affluent group of people the world has ever known…

Hunter-gatherers.

Everything they needed to survive, thrive, and live a happy active lifestyle grew and existed freely around them.

Now I want to be clear…

I’m not here to romanticize their way of life.

Few hunter-gatherer tribes still exist till this day despite many attempts to eradicate them from the modern world. And furthermore, I wouldn’t be able to get this message to you if it wasn’t for the technological advancements of that same modern world.

But what I am here to say is…

It’s in your blood.

You have the ability to use everything you’ve got to the fullest extent. But unfortunately these days, most of us do not. And the end result is a lot of wasted time and energy.

It’s a shame too.

If you’re going to dedicate your life to creating something…

It’s in your best interest to use it to the fullest.

Which is what I’m here to sell you today.

What have you created already?

What’s laying around in your google drive, or your notion database, that could quickly become a valuable offer to someone, anyone who’s either just a few feet or a thousand steps behind?

I imagine there’s something.

Or piece a stray piece of content that did well, simply laying around, that hasn’t been advanced or iterated upon that could become something very valuable to someone trying to achieve what you’ve already achieved?

Something to think about.

Though sometimes hard to do when you’re caught up in the weeds of the day-to-day.

So if you ever want a second pair of eyes on what you’ve got cookin’ and how it might be better utilized, dig in here if you’d like my input:
