Most heart attacks happen at 7am on Monday morning
In healthcare, they call it “The Monday Morning Peak”.
Also “Cardiovascular Monday”.
Multiple studies confirm that heart attacks are 20% more common early Monday mornings. When I was a construction contractor, I used to wake up and smoke two cigarettes before I could even bring myself to start the day.
Not because there's anything wrong with being a contractor. But because for me, it wasn't right.
I wasn't passionate about it. I was more worried about messing up someone's house, or not having enough work for my guys next week, than I was excited about going to work. Running a business ain't easy no matter which path you choose. But it is important for you to be excited about it.
I think back to when I was in school. I started out in computer science but immediately ditched it to study creative writing. Because for me, success means creative freedom.
If you're reading this, maybe that's true for you too.
But for years I felt creatively blocked. I'd have these ideas, start writing about them, start to create something… second-guess myself, and tuck it away in a folder where no one would ever see it.
I struggled to trust myself because I was trying to forge some non-traditional path. The kind of stuff they don't teach you in school. Trying to think outside the box while simultaneously wondering if the box was there for a reason.
But as the late great Gary Halbert once said…
===
"Money is a byproduct of enthusiasm."

The more I realized that’s true, the more I realized the reason I kept hitting walls in life wasn’t because I wasn’t good enough, but because I wasn’t building the things that actually lit me up inside. End of 2024, I officially replaced my income with writing online.
Man that was a good feeling. I haven’t gone a single construction project for work since.
And it all started about six months before that when I made the commitment to start publishing daily on Threads. Not because Threads is magic. It’s not, it’s just another social media platform. But it’s one that’s worked for me the way others didn’t.
Writing every day this way forced me to figure out what I actually wanted to say. And how to say it in a way that moves people to act.
Once I figured out that out, other people wanted me to help them do it too.
Joseph Campbell called it "following your bliss." I just call it the thing that gets you out of bed without cigarettes. And I firmly believe that no matter where you're at — business owner, traditional career, just getting started — if you make a commitment to start writing and publishing online, it will changes things for you.
So if you're ready to start, here’s something that will help.
It's called the Influential Writing System.
My personal writing workspace, built in Notion, with AI baked in that gives you a simple way to write, schedule, and track your content. And the more you use it, the smarter it gets about your voice and what actually works.
