The immunity post (don’t get voted off the island)
On Season 15 of Survivor, the one set in China, a player named James Clement found not one, but two hidden immunity idols.
If you've never watched the show, here's how an idol works. At Tribal Council, after everyone has written down their votes but before the host reads them, you can play your idol. Every vote against you gets thrown out, and you're safe for the night.
James had two of them in his pocket.
And about a month into the game, the other players blindsided him and voted him out.
Resting on his laurels, he refused to play his idols.
It's still one of the most famous moments in the show's history. And all he had to do was reach into his pocket to make sure that no matter what, he was safe.
In the Coyote Copy Club, you get an immunity idol too.
All you have to do to play it is write an intro post. Tell us who you are and what you're working on.
That's it.
I bring this up because I recently removed ten people from the group. Every one of them had been a member for months without ever posting or introducing themselves, so I doubt they’ll ever notice.
But it's a good reminder.
Because the free tier is closed now, and the Standard tier is paid. For anyone still holding on to legacy free access, the rule has always been the same: introduce yourself if you want to stick around.
And the only reason is because I want people to have a good experience in there.
If you make a post, look around, and still don't find a reason to stay, that's on me as the host of the party. But a little effort goes a long way. Case in point, I recently met someone in another Skool community who I'm now planning a list swap with. All it took was commenting on one of their posts, and it turned into a friendship.
You never know what one post can turn into.
So go play your idol:
