How to trigger the client “AVALANCHE!”
I don’t care what business you’re in…
Whether you’re a coach, consultant, educator, thought leader, service business, brick & mortar, agency, whatever…
You’re in the education business.
Why?
Because “education based marketing” has taken the world by STORM. Ever since Jay Abraham started advocating for it in the 1980s, and even more so since Chet Holmes popularized it in his business classic, The Ultimate Sales Machine, now education based marketing might be the only real form of marketing left.
But why, when you look around, are so many people still trying to skip this step?
Why are so many people still hung up on chasing the latest “marketing” trends, tricks, and tactics? (Well, I’ll get to why in a minute).
But first you need to know:
Attention is the first step in the learning process.
And if you can’t get attention, then you can’t teach anyone anything. And if you’re unable to educate your audience on the benefits of your work, then you’re really going to have trouble bringing new clients into your business. And the main reason for that is because once people are actually shopping around for the thing you offer, you’ve already lost.
Why?
Because by then, you’re a commodity, and at that point, people are most likely just price shopping.
But even if that’s not the case, some other provider probably already educated them on their problem and the solution they’re looking for, long before they were even looking for it. And as a result, they’ve either already bought from them, or you’re competing against MOUNTAINS of trust that they’ve already built with that other provider.
So you’re really fighting an uphill battle.
But back to what I was saying earlier about why there are so many marketing “experts” still relying on tricks and trends (that they’re all claiming to be “THE BEST!”). Which leaves most people wondering, “Who the heck do I trust?”
Well the reason why is simple…
They’re all trying to get attention.
Because people are are attracted to novelty. People are hardwired to respond to what’s new and different. And when people become accustomed to a specific marketing tactic, it loses it’s impact. Because as soon as someone finds something that works, everybody starts to imitate it. And before long the market is saturated. The new novel tactic starts to blend into the sea of sameness. Soon it stops working, and everyone starts looking around for the next new trend.
But that’s the problem with jumping on trends…
They’re ephemeral, they don’t last long. And most people are out there just imitating what everyone else is doing and jumping from trend to trend to get attention, but really they’re just blending in.
Really, if you want to be successful, what you need to be able to do is, you need to be able to look at what everyone else is doing and do the opposite. Which is why instead of worrying about the latest trends, I prefer to focus on the fundamentals. And as long you’re able to understand the underlying principles of how to get attention, without all the tricks and tactics, and understand how to direct it to the fact that you can solve your clients problems in just the way your clients would like them to be solved.
Then you’ll never have to worry about “leads or clients” ever again.
At least not “getting” them.
Maybe instead you’ll be worrying about how to turn them away.
Because that’s what happens when you trigger the “client avalanche!”
Which is what happens when you learn how to write in such a way that get’s the right kind of attention. Which is the first of 15 Legendary Writing Secrets that I’ll reveal in my upcoming e-book which will help you build more social proof, demonstrate greater authority, and quickly become a trusted advisor in your field.
If you want more details just reply back, “I’M INTERESTED” and I’ll make sure you get them when they’re ready.
That’s it for today.
All the best,
Kevin Hood
