Set for life?

I’ve never worked a corporate job in my life, but I can relate to the joy of quitting your job and finally becoming self-employed.

Which is what happened last week with TNM subscriber Abbey Page.

She already knew she was done with corporate when she came to me ready to go all-in on her side hustle as a men’s style guide. She already had some local word of mouth clients, but knew having a presence on social media would help her speed things along.

She tried Instagram for a while, and like me, found it overwhelming and difficult to use.

Why? Because you’re up against professional marketers with million dollar teams making some of the most distracting kinds of content known to man. I mean, have you been on instagram recently? It’s kind of insane.

Anywho… moving right along to the part of story where she discovered Threads (and started following me).

She liked the writing, felt like the organic reach was insane compared to everything else.

And decided to go all in.

So when we started working together, here’s what I noticed immediately. Her offer… a woman offering men’s style advice, was destined for greatness. I even told her as much on our first call. But her bio wasn’t clear enough, she wasn’t offering next steps, and she wasn’t building an email list.

So she had no system for turning content into followers, followers into subscribers, and subscribers into sales.

So on our first call, we fixed up her bio, then I told her to go through the content inside Threads Organic Traffic. And our second call we wrote two, maybe three posts together. And our third call, she told me she booked her first client directly from Threads.

A fairly well-to-do man who literally said, “I love the way you write on Threads.”

A guy who can afford to give Abbey and her boyfriend box seats to the football game when he doesn’t have time himself to go.

So that’s what most people miss. They focus on trying to go viral, or write with AI, or swipe viral hooks or templates. But they don’t focus on the fundamentals of building a real marketing strategy for a real business.

All to say… three months later, Abbey fulfilled her promise to quit her corporate job and go all in on her own thing.

I remember how good it felt for me to do the same almost 10 years ago at this point.

And also how scary it can be.

She might not be set for life, but she is cleared for the next stage of growth in her business. So if you want to apply some of the same things Abbey learned which gave her the confidence and the lead flow to quit her corporate job, Threads Organic Traffic shows you where to start.
